Islam Mitat -a young moroccan woman from Oujda- dreams to study abroad, to start a career and then maybe a family. She’s 19 years old and believes in true love. She sees London as the place where all her dreams can come true: she wants to study fashion design there. Her father is a policeman, her mother a housewife; despite being moderate musilims they would never let her leave her household until she is married. Islam is supported and loved by her parents, but she knows that if she wants to follow her ambitions she needs to find a husband first. Which is why she signs up on a popular online meeting platform where she meets Ahmed, a promising young Afghani man with a British passport, who seems to be aligned to her mindset and taste. Shortly after, Ahmed flies to Morocco to propose to marry her. At first, Islam’s father was skeptical, after a background check he gave his blessing. The couple flew to Afghanistan to meet his family. Then Ahmed proposes to go to Turkey for their honeymoon. She accepts and soon she finds herself in an impossible situation, her husband joined ISIS. What she thought would be a normal holiday, became a nightmare lasting three years.
